Drilling rig mats are primarily used in oil field drilling operations to provide a stable and level working foundation for heavy equipment such as drills, derricks, mud pumps, and generators. They are also suitable for other scenarios where traditional hardened ground conditions cannot be met, creating safe, stable, and temporary working bases for ultra-heavy machinery.
The size can be selected based on the dimensions of the drilling rig or the area of the surface to be paved. Common sizes include 3m x 2m, 4m x 2m, and 5m x 2m. The thickness can be chosen according to load-bearing requirements, with recommended options of 160mm, 180mm, and 200mm. Custom sizes are also available.
Before laying the foundation, the site should be leveled and compacted with a road roller. High-pressure water jets must not be used to clean the mats, and they must not be used for lifting or bearing loads during hoisting operations.
